Come join us for eCubed Event: Jazz Against Violence at the Looking Glass Cocktail Club .  All profits will be donated to Solace Women's Aid. 

We will be featuring 2 amazing artists - Louise Golbey and Trudy Kerr between 6.00pm - 10.30pm. Hosted by Judy Kawaguchi, founder of eCubed, including her cameo debut of jazz performance at this event.

There will be raffles, silent auctions, delicious cocktails, drinks, and nibbles throughout the event.

Come listen to beautiful music, enjoy amazing cocktails and a soulful atmosphere for a great cause!

Born in Australia, Trudy moved to the UK in the 90’s to pursue a career in music. She got her big break when Ronnie Scott heard her sing and immediately booked her for a week long date at his club. She has performed at many major venues and festivals in the UK most notably Glastonbury, and sung at Buckingham Palace for the Queen’s Birthday celebration.

Trudy has recorded a dozen albums as a leader, her most recent project ‘Take 5' is a celebration of the music of alto saxophonist Paul Desmond. The album is a mixture of standards as well as compositions by Desmond, Trudy has added lyrics and written vocalese to his solos.

Her other releases are ‘The House’, ’Contemplation’, ‘The Rhythm of Life’, ‘Reunion’, ‘Like Minds’, ‘Déjà Vu’, ‘Jazz for Juniors’, ‘Cloudburst’, ‘My Old Flame’, ‘Day Dream’, ‘Trudy’ and ‘Sweet Surprise’. Trudy has collaborated both live and in the studio with world class musicians including Mulgrew Miller, Jan Lundgren, Georgie Fame, Bob Dorough, Jukka Perko, Michael Garrick, Acker Bilk and Jamie Cullum.

About Louise Golbey:

The voice of the most recent Mercedes advert, Louise Golbey is an established artist on the live music scene, a BBC Introducing Alumni (Glastonbury, Maida Vale) and regular performer at legendary London venues, The Jazz Cafe, The 606, Pizza Express Jazz Club, The London Jazz Festival and The Hideaway.

As well as having played alongside artists such as Paloma Faith, Katy B, Jessie J, Sam Smith, Lianne Lahavas & Ed Sheeran (who is also in one of her early music videos), she is also one of the most in-demand openers on the UK Live circuit, performing to 6,000 people ahead of the legendary George Benson at a Kenwood House Picnic Concert, landed support slots for En Vogue and Roberta Flack, a sold out UK tour with The Stylistics, and supported Roy Ayers, Omar, Heatwave, Eric Benet and Barack Obama’s favourite artist – Anthony David.

Louise also performed in The o2 arena at the first ever Electric Soul Festival in 2019 (hosted by Trevor Nelson) alongside Kool and The Gang, Brand New Heavies, Level 42 and Heather Small and she was Caffe Nero Artist of the Month in 2018.

Louise has also worked on tracks with Example, The Newham Generals (signed to Dizzie Rascal’s label) and Dan Dare (who was behind the Joel Corry /MKEK hit Head n Heart in 2020).

With a lot of support from BBC 1 Xtra, 6 Music, Jazz FM, Mi Soul, Radio 2 and radio stations across Europe over the years. Louise has released several EP’s and singles, her first album ‘Novel’ features a track with Omar and Mo Pleasure (musician who is worked with Michael Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire and Ray Charles) as well as production by Mercury Music Prize nominee producer Drew ‘Beats' Horley (Ty, Estelle, De La Soul, Roots Manuva) and Aamir Yaqub (Rihanna)

As well as her own music project Louise is currently writing with Grammy and Ivor Novello winning songwriter / producer Rob Davis who co-wrote songs such as Kylie’s ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ and ‘Groovejet’ by Spiller and she has written for TV series, film and adverts.

Another string to her bow - she also hosts The Songwriter’s Podcast in association with The Ivors Academy and PRS for Music M Magazine.
